Moving with Pets

    Make it a Smooth Move
    for your Pets!

1.Update your pet’s id tag.Make sure your pet is wearing a sturdy collar with your name and cell#.

2.Keep medications, food and water on hand.Just a reminder, I know you have a lot on your mind right now. Your pets will also thank you for having a favorite blankie and toy in the car.

3.First Aid Kit.Always a good idea for pets and their humans.

4.Find a new veterinarian and emergency clinic. Before you move ask your vet or your real estate broker if they recommend a vet in area you are moving to.

5.Seclude your furry family member from chaos. A pet can become anxious and a bit uncertain on moving day. Keep them in a quiet, cool safe place, Grandma’s house or even in the bathroom.

6.Car safety.Cats and dogs are best crated for travel in a well ventilated and secured carrier. NEVER let your pet ride in an open pick-up bed or in the storage area of a moving van.

7.Pack your car with the pet stuff handy. When you arrive at new home, immediately set out your pet’s familiar things, bed, toys, cat box, etc.

8.Learn about your new area. There may be certain ordinances for pets or a license is required. You will be glad that you have the vaccination records with you for that.

Happy Tails!
